2015 & 2016 saw me in the Floor Manager avatar covering the most prestigious sporting event of the nation – IPL.
These 2 years I moved across a couple of crews, pushed myself through the heat & blaze to thoroughly enjoy being where the action happens – The Stadiums. It was a wholesome, unforgettable 2 years of being as close to the cricketing action as possible.
Had the great good fortune of being a Live Match Producer for the Prestigious FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup 2022. It was an absolutely thrilling experience of working with the best in business and delivering a truly world class product. Learnt so much from brushing shoulders with the best in the business.
In an absolute first I directed the Sports parts of the riveting web series called The Chargesheet – Innocent or Guilty.
Had the enviable task to blend the twin aspects of the intricacies of Drama with the precision of Sports. This project most certainly opened up a new avenue for me, creatively speaking.
In a first, I had the good fortune to live produce the Urdu Feed during the matches and handle the Studio as Floor Manager before and after the matches. This twin role was both exciting & enriching to say the least. Thoroughly enjoyed myself.
The day and age of the mobile phone and the vertical format has definitely arrived. Had the good fortune of being part of the luminaries’ series of Unacademy called Graphy. Life lessons via interesting real life, anecdotal chapters formed the core of this series. Lead the project involving the voice of cricket – Harsha Bhogle.
Was part of the team that got us the biggest food show in India. Master Chef India broke the hitherto belief that food shows do not work on PRIME TIME. My contribution was spread across the 3 areas of pre-production, production and post production, with key responsibilities in scripting and editing.
Also headed the 1st 2 years of the spin off show Zaaykebazon ka Safar. It gave great numbers and was a very worthy and popular branch of the main show.
Got a Great opportunity to Direct and creatively supervise the world famous Strongman Champions League when it came to India. It was quite an experience in a relatively lesser known Sport than Cricket or Football. Gave it my best shot while understanding and covering the whole event simultaneously… Another Sport in the kitty!
This was an interesting Project as it was the first time, I was doing anything in regard with Horse Racing. Northalley was planning on doing a Two Horse race in Inda in the coming future and I was part of setting up Content and Broadcast blueprints for them. Took my close to 25 years of broadcast experience and expertise to help set up for the upcoming times. A good project that could snowball into something big in years to come.
An extremely challenging yet fruitful experience. For the first time the Asian Television Awards moved out from Singapore to a new venue. The trials and tribulations proved to bring out the best from the entire team…. The crew stood up and delivered!
The 3 day event including technical awards, popular awards and a Sundowner went flawless and had great energy on screen and off it.
In an absolute first we attempted marrying the frailties of reality with the panache’ of a beauty pageant. Drama meets beauty. It was a most rigorous schedule following the Divas day in day out for close to a month. The end result though was worth all the effort.
